Tenerife: Supreme Court gives final judgment that Hotel Médano must be demolished

Supreme Court in Tenerife judgment clears the way for an entire hotel to be knocked down labeling it as ‘illegal because the hotel’s concession to occupy public land is defunct‘. The original project was approved by the Dirección General de Costas but was altered without permission, being built one storey too high and with illegal terraces that jut into the sea like the prow of a ship. The Dirección General de Costas itself appears to have been seeking the demolition of the hotel since 2005.
